Overview
Quantum Scalar tape libraries provide enterprise tape automation from mid-range to petabyte-scale — the Scalar i3 and i6 for mid-range, and the Scalar i6000 for large archive environments. Quantum Scalar libraries integrate with all major backup software platforms and support LTFS for direct file access without backup software.
STME deploys Quantum Scalar libraries as the cold tier in backup architectures requiring long-term retention, regulatory compliance archiving, or ransomware-isolated backup. Tape provides the only truly air-gapped data protection option — ejected tape cartridges are physically isolated from network-connected systems.
