Overview
NetApp SnapVault provides efficient disk-to-disk backup for NetApp ONTAP environments, maintaining multiple generations of Snapshot copies on a secondary NetApp system. Unlike SnapMirror (which replicates for DR), SnapVault creates independent backup copies with longer retention — ideal for regulatory compliance and file-level restore requests.
STME uses SnapVault as the secondary tier in NetApp data protection architectures, providing 30, 60, or 90-day backup retention with granular file restore capability. Integration with NetApp SnapCenter enables application-consistent backup policies for Oracle, SQL Server, and SAP.
