Virtualization
VMware Capacity Planner.
Pre-virtualization assessment tool for capacity planning — collecting performance data from physical servers to model virtualization consolidation ratios and recommend vSphere deployment sizing.
Overview
VMware Capacity Planner collects performance data from physical servers over 2–4 weeks and models the consolidation ratios, resource requirements, and ROI of virtualizing those workloads onto VMware vSphere. The output is a detailed sizing report that gives procurement committees the evidence they need to approve virtualization investments.
STME uses Capacity Planner at the beginning of every VMware engagement to right-size the vSphere deployment. Accurate sizing prevents over-purchasing of compute resources and ensures the virtualization environment is sized for actual workload needs rather than theoretical peak capacity.
